RULES AND REGULATIONS
Welcome to Perpetuity! We are pleased you decided to look into us. But before you go further, we ask you view the rules first. Much like in every group, Perpetuity has it's own rules that need to be followed.
Rules are divided into three in Perpetuity.
Severe -- Rules that must be followed at all costs, and breaking them rewards a permanent strike, or depending on the severity of the rule, an instant ban. There will be absolutely no negotation with these rules.
Moderate -- Rules that, while needing to be followed, are less enforced upon members than Severe rules. If needed, we will negotiate with players who have broken this rule, though not often.
Lax -- Rules that are the least enforced. These rules can be bent and negotiated about freely. These are, despite the relaxed-ness, still rules that must be followed.
Perpetuity uses a three strikes and you're out system. For every breaking of a rule, you will get a strike. Strikes are kept private, and noone except for the staff and yourself will know of your strikes. Strikes are divided into two--permanent strikes and temporary strikes. Permanent strikes occur when you break a Severe rule, while temporary ones are when you break a Moderate or Lax rule. Temporary strikes will decay over time (1 month). If you find yourself in need of removing a permanent strike, you can send the staff an appeal to their PMs. Appealing is basically apologizing for the actions that warranted a strike. Once we get an appeal, we can decide whether to remove the strike, or to keep it there for good.

GENERAL RULES
Respect your fellow members.
Self-explanatory. You are required to remain respectful to all members of the group, whether they are normal members or part of the staff.
Do not advertise.
Advertising other roleplays, maps, etc. in our chats and site is forbidden. Mentioning other roleplays/maps/etc. is alright, as long as you aren't pushing members to join/download/etc. them! If you are unsure whether someting is considered advertisement or not, feel free to ask a staff member!
Remain active.
Though we are not very strict on activity, it is what keeps a group running. Making an in-game appearance at least once a week is appreciated, but roleplaying and talking in our Discord server is a valid form of activity!
Seperate IC and OOC from eachother.
If someone's character dislikes your character, it does not mean that the person themselves dislikes you! In a similar vein, things you know yourself, your characters might not know.
Staff are required to follow the rules.
Though seemingly self-evident, we felt it important enough to showcase here. Staff are required to follow all of the rules, and are not exempt from the punishments that may occur if they break the rules.

CHARACTER RULES
Realism.
Perpetuity is a realistic roleplay. This means that your character's design needs to be realistic, with natural colors. However, you don't need to stick to all nature rules. For example, cats with no white on them are allowed to have blue eyes, and so on.
Keep names fitting with the region.
Keep the names of your characters somewhat logical. For example, a cat in England wouldn't be named Hyenanose, as the cats don't know about hyenas. If you're unsure, feel free to consult with staff!
Try to avoid using items.
We don't allow most items to be used on your characters. The only items allowed are natural items, such as feathers and twigs, and collars if your character is/was a kittypet!
About mutations.
You are free to make a character with any mutation, but we ask that you understand the drawbacks of whatever mutations your cats have. We also ask that you only have 2 mutated cats at a time! (You are free to make more than 2 characters with common mutations such as heterochromia and polydactyly!)
About character backstories.
All characters must start out aged 6 moons or over. Kits can only be roleplayed through kit tryouts. While we also allow past outsiders into the group, we ask that those backstories be kept relatively rare!
ROLEPLAY RULES
Keep it fair for everyone.
In order to make a welcoming and fun experience for all members, you have to play it fair. This means no godmodding, no powerplaying, no cheating at all.
About character deaths.
The only way characters can die, is when it is plotted in advance and agreed upon by the member who's character is dying, and staff. This is to avoid members impulsively making characters they'll kill off a day later.
No NSFW roleplay is allowed.
Absolutely no NSFW roleplay is allowed in our official chats. Do it in private if you must, but keep it away from the eyes and ears of those who don't want to see it.
